SIFHAMS Organized its Third International Scientific Forum with the Theme "Tradition of Art and Architecture in Islamic Civilization"

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences at the University of Sharjah organized the third International Scientific Forum entitled "Tradition of Art and Architecture in Islamic Civilization." Prof. Dr. Hamid M. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, Prof. Dr. Mesut Idriz, Acting Director of the Foundation, and a number of deans of colleges and heads of departments and researchers and graduate students interested in the disciplines of architecture and decoration and fine arts and design attended the forum. The Forum aims to shed light on the architecture in Islamic civilization through different eras and how it has been preserved to the present time, through a number of research papers in the sessions of the Forum. Prof. Dr. Doris Abu Saif from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, was the main guest speaker, where she delivered her presentation on the Mamluk era; followed by Prof. Nadia Alhasani, Dean of College of Fine Arts, and Assistant Prof. Dr. Reyhan Sabri, professor of Architectural Engineering, both from the University of Sharjah.
