On Monday February 17 2020, Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences (SIFHAMS) in collaboration with IRTHI Contemporary Crafts Council organized student advising meeting for the MA students in the Department of Islamic History and Civilization. This meeting came within the framework of signing a memorandum of understanding between the University of Sharjah and IRTHI. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Mesut Idriz, Acting Director of SIFHAMS, and Ms. Shahad Al-Hammadi, Senior Executive – Projects Research and Documentation, and the official representative of IRTHI, and Dr. Badriyah Al Shamsi, the coordinator of the meeting, and a number of professors in the Department of History and Islamic Civilization.
The aims of the meeting were as follows:
- A look to the subjects that can be chosen for Master's researches by graduate students in the Department of History.
- Knowing the aims and objectives of IRTHI Contemporary Crafts Council, which is to adopt scientific research related to documenting the heritage of the Emirates and how to use the researches of the students in the future Heritage Council projects.
On the other hand, Ms. Shahd Al Hammadi briefed about the future goals of IRTHI as well as its accomplishments during the past years. The meeting discussed topics that could be adopted by the council provided that the list of students wishing to participate in the project are limited, and a date will be set for the students to discuss their project.
