This is an independent award that is presented each year to institutions, research centers, scientists, intellectuals and innovators for their contributions in fields that serve the history of Arab and Muslim sciences. The award is granted in accordance with scientific and objective standards and criteria.  The award has been established due to the support and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Sharjah, pursuant to Emiri Decree No. (2), issued by His Highness in the year 2015. The award aims to motivate and encourage innovative research in fields related to the history of Arab and Muslim sciences, define that which Arab and Muslim scientists have contributed in terms of discovery and innovations in the interest of humankind, and establish dialogue and coexistence through scientific research.
